What Are E Track Ratchet Straps?

E Track Ratchet Straps are Ratchet Straps designed to work with E Track Rail Systems. E Track Ratchet Straps have become a staple for securing cargo inside enclosed trailers and dry vans in the cargo control industry. They are often the go-to strap for professional dry van operators in the cargo control industry.

E Track Rails are made from heavy-duty steel and can often be purchased in either 2-foot, 5-foot, 8-foot, or 10-foot sections with a galvanized, painted, or powder-coated finish. Along the rails are anchor points or locations that you can latch your e-track straps into to secure cargo with along the rails.

There are two main types of e-track rails with one type being Horizontal and the other being Vertical which provides you with ultimate flexibility to secure from the ideal angle for securing various sizes, shapes, and weights of cargo inside of dry van trailers and enclosed trailers. This is ideal for professional movers or truckers as you may experience different sizes of cargo and weights every day during your day-to-day operations.

The Different Sizes of E Track Ratchet Straps

E Track Ratchet Straps come in three commonly used lengths of webbing ranging from 12 feet, 16 feet, and 20 feet. One of the benefits of using e-track ratchet straps is that they are color-coded for easy identification – Yellow for 12 feet, Gray for 16 feet, and Blue for 20 feet. This helps prevent you from taking the time to measure the straps before using them to secure cargo and helps to know exactly how long the strap length is.

Our E Track Ratchet Straps are made with high-quality polyester tie-down webbing material that is engineered to provide ultimate durability and strength with minimal amounts of stretching. Minimal stretching helps to ensure that the cargo you are securing remains in place throughout transportation to ensure the cargo is safely secured and to prevent the cargo from becoming damaged. Our E Track Ratchet Straps feature a 1,466 lbs safe assembly working load limit rating and provide ultimate durability for repetitive usage.

How E Track Ratchet Straps Can Help You Save Time

Color-coded Lengths – E Ratchet Straps come in color-coded lengths which can help save you time from measuring the straps before every use as Yellow is 12 feet in length, Gray is 16 feet in length, and Blue is 20 feet in length. After every use and storing of the straps is it extremely easy to identify which straps you need for your next securement application which helps save you time.

Minimal Amounts of Stretching – Our E Track Straps are made with high-quality and high-strength polyester tie-down webbing material that provides minimal amounts of stretching compared to competitor straps. This helps you to reduce the need to adjust the straps to the desired strength during transport constantly and ensures the highest levels of safety are met to reduce damage claims and upset customers.

In Stock Availability – We have a large facility with over 80,000 sqft of space to accommodate the high demand for e-track ratchet straps. Most orders that are placed online are shipped out the very next business day to ensure that you are receiving your e-track straps when you need them most. We also have expedited delivery options available at checkout that help you receive the packages during a time crunch.

Quick Securing and Releasing – One of the biggest time savers for e-track ratchet straps is the way that they are secured into place and then once you reach the next destination are released. E Track Ratchet Straps can quickly latch onto any of the anchor points along the horizontal or vertical e track rails which allows you to find the ideal anchor point without moving your cargo around to find it.

Once you find the ideal anchor points you can quickly ratchet the ratchet hardware to the desired slack and it is safely held into place. Once you are unloading you open the ratchet handle to release the strap and unfasten the e-track hardware from the e-track rails and you are ready to unload in seconds. This helps you to stay on the road for longer and focus on driving while we help assist you with keeping your cargo safely secured.

Frequently Asked E Track Ratchet Strap Questions

Can You Use Normal Ratchet Straps with E Track Rails? – Yes, you can use traditional ratchet straps with end fittings that are not designed directly for e track by using our E Track Rope Tie Off Straps or through the use of our E Track Accessories which provide you with fittings designed to latch into e track rail systems and to provide you with an anchor point for these types of straps at a fraction of the price of purchasing new straps.

What Are E Track Ratchet Straps Safely Rated For? – Our 2-inch E Track Ratchet Straps are safely rated for 1,466 lbs per strap. This is due to the e-track fittings hardware featuring a 4,500 lbs breaking strength or a 1,500 lbs safe working load limit rating which causes the strap to be safely rated at 1,466 lbs not to push the straps past their safety limitations.

We also have heavier-duty 2-inch wide polyester tie-down webbing which provides a heavier-duty breaking strength and durability but the e-track straps can not be rated safely past 1,466 lbs per strap. We strongly recommend that those who are securing cargo around metal edges or securing cargo often choose our heavier-duty webbing for additional safety.

What Type of Cargo Securement Applications Are E-Track Straps Used For? – Some of the applications that work best for e-track straps include securing anything from pallets, boxes, personal belongings, furniture, and more inside enclosed trailers, moving vans, and dry van trailers for professional truckers.

How Long Do E-Track Ratchet Straps Last? – On average, you can normally expect E-Track Ratchet Straps to last longer than several years depending on the number of times they are used cargo and if they are avoiding sharp metal edges when possible that could otherwise damage the polyester tie down webbing.

When e-track straps do become damaged it is almost always the tie-down webbing that becomes damaged before the heavy-duty metal hardware so it is important to inspect your e-track straps for damage before and every after use to keep your cargo safely secured.
