1 inch Ratchet Straps for Cargo Securement
1-inch Ratchet Straps are some of the most versatile ratchet straps on the market for securing cargo in the back of a pickup truck bed, pickup trailers, moving vans, motorcycle securement, and ATV securement to name a few.
Although 1-inch Ratchet Straps are small in physical size and in weight they are able to secure cargo safely with upwards of 1,100 lbs Working Load Limit for our heavy-duty straps. We have various different 1-inch webbing and 1-inch hardware options to fulfill a variety of different securement applications that may require less strength or more strength depending on the cargo you are securing.
Our 1-inch webbing is made from polyester tie-down webbing that is designed to provide great amounts of strength with little stretching to make sure that the cargo you are securing does not move during transport. One of the added benefits of using webbing blends made from polyester is they do great outside in the elements where most cargo securement occurs during all seasons such as Summer, Fall, Winter, and even Spring!
Polyester webbing is designed to help your ratchet straps last longer against direct sunlight, mold & mildew, and road debris. If you have any questions about our 1-inch Ratchet Straps you can give our experts a call at 800-807-5634 or by using our online contact us form.
How to Tighten a Ratchet Strap Instructions
1). From the bottom of the ratchet hardware thread webbing from the center spool of the ratchet hardware. Pull webbing through in order to remove the excess slack
2). Next, begin cranking the ratchet handle to the desired tightness. Be careful not to overtighten or not tighten your cargo enough you ideally want to remove the slack and crank the ratchet handle 2-3 additional times to prevent overtightening.
3). Once the excess slack in the webbing is removed and the desired strength is reached ensure the ratchet hardware handle is completely closed to make sure your cargo does not become unsecured.
How to Release a Ratchet Strap Instructions
1). Open Ratchet Hardware until it is completely flat, grab webbing from the nonfixed side and pull to release the webbing.
2). Pull the ratchet release mechanism to close the ratchet hardware in between securing.
3). Next, roll the strap to keep it neatly organized and place it into a dry location that is away from moisture such as a cabinet, storage bin, ziplock bag, or duffle bag to keep it safe for the next use.

Frequently Asked 1 inch Ratchet Strap Questions
How often should you re-tighten your straps on the road? – We always recommend checking your ratchet straps 1-2 miles after initially leaving your destination. After re-checking and likely re-tightening to get a perfect tension you will want to check them after every additional 70 miles or one hour of drive time in most circumstances. Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
What is the easiest way to measure how long of a ratchet strap you need? – The easiest and cheapest way to check how long of a strap you will need for your securement application is by using a piece of string, yarn, or fishing line. You can account for the length and potential bends around the cargo and measure the length by using a tape measure after.
What type of end fittings work with 1-inch Ratchet Straps? – Endless Loop, Wire Hooks, S Hooks, and Snap Hooks are a few of our more popular combinations of 1-inch ratchet strap end fittings we offer.
